Mama Baranka Revisited

is a documentary film about the life and the work of the Dutch sculptor Nelson Carrilho. The film shows how Carrilho’s Caribbean roots form the essential basis for his statues, which he creates within a classical European tradition. Carrilho processes his social engagement and his anger towards injustice into works which connect people in our polarizing society.
